Accountability
Taking into consideration the varying degree of parental involvement and the age of our students, the following attendance policy outlines both the responsibility of parents and the actions of SCA. Our policy addresses the issue of incomplete assignments, overall inactivity, and our required response to these issues.
We certainly do not encourage inactivity but allow it because of special circumstances such as illness or death in the family.
1 Week of Inactivity
Parental Responsibility – to make sure that the student resumes activity as soon as possible. If a student is not able to resume activity, we ask that a parent call Online Support at 1.888.924.4618 option 1 and to provide the school with an explanation for the inactivity.
SCA Responsibility - send a precautionary message via e-mail informing the parent of student's inactivity.

3 Weeks of Inactivity

SCA Responsibility - If a parent has not yet contacted SCA, SCA will issue a withdrawal warning letter via e-mail and standard mail stating that if the student will not resume activity within the next week, he or she will be withdrawn according to the SCA policy. To verify the successful delivery of this e-mail, a follow up phone call will be made by SCA to the phone number(s) provided on the application.
4 Weeks of Inactivity
Parental Responsibility - to make sure the student resumes activity as soon as possible and to inform SCA that activity will be resumed on the next day. Explanation of inactivity is required.
SCA Responsibility - If the parent has not yet contacted SCA, SCA will issue a final withdrawal warning via e-mail and standard mail urging the student to resume activity in the next five days.
If activity is not resumed within the next five days and no contact by a parent has been made, student's enrollment will be terminated.
Please, note that 30% withdrawal fee will apply with both voluntary and involuntary enrollment termination.
Policy is effective as of November 14, 2011.
